👨👩👧HOW PARENTS CAN RAISE A GOOD CHILD
Many parents focus attention on their children’s grades and extracurricular activities, but too often, we forget to put time and effort into nurturing another component of child success and development – being a good person.
So how parents can raise the children to become good people?
⭐️Nurture empathy
Emotional intelligence and empathy are fundamental traits of good people. To encourage empathy in the children, encourage them to talk about their feelings, and make sure they know that you care about them. When a conflict occurs with a friend, ask them to imagine how their friend might be feeling and show them ways of managing the emotions and work positively toward a resolution.
⭐️Teach Them to Volunteer
Whether your children help an elderly neighbor or help you pack some canned goods into boxes for donation to family shelters, the act of volunteering can shape your children’s characters. When kids help others, they learn to think about the needs of those less fortunate than they are, and can feel proud of themselves for making a difference in others’ lives.
⭐️Teach Them Good Manners
Do your children routinely practice the fundamentals of good manners such as saying “Thank you” and “Please”? Do they speak in a polite manner to people and address elders as “Mr.” and Ms.”? Remember that you play an important role in shaping how well-behaved your children will be.
⭐️Treat Them With Kindness and Respect
The most effective way to get kids to speak to you and to others in a respectful way is by doing exactly that yourself when you interact with your children. Consider your own way of speaking, acting, and even thinking, and try to choose a friendly and polite tone and manner with your children, even when you are talking to them about a mistake or misbehavior.
